This property is located between 2 small rural communities of Bokoshe/Panama. Bokoshe was founded in 1886 and was in the Moshulatubbee District of the Choctaw Nation. The principal business was a coal mine that employed 10 miners. Population was 153. The Fort Smith and Western Railway built tracks in 1901 to Bokoshe to ship the coal out. Two other coal mines opened and the population grew to 483 by 1910. Panama, also Indian territory, and part of the Choctaw Nation was established in 1898. Panama was also a coal mining community named Red Town because of all the miners’ shacks using red paint for the outside of the shacks. Train tracks were also running through Panama for coal hauling and Panama was still supported by coal mining in the 1930’s. Both towns still remain today and have a small school system and are both located in LeFlore county. Distance is 35 – 40 miles to Ft. Smith Ark. Population ~75,000 -- 80 miles, 1.5 hours to Tulsa, 200 miles, 4 hours to DFW. Several lakes in the area including but not limited to Kerr, Eufaula, Wister and Tenkiller. Land: 120 m/l acres offering cattle production, hay meadow, horse ranch, as well as a building site for your home. Property is conveniently located and close to amenities but definitely off the beaten path. Property is off Highway 31 with access being county road. Grasses will be primarily Bermuda with other native grasses, also has 2 stock ponds. Overall: This property is very easy to get to and you can be in town within minutes, yet it gives you the country setting and ranch lifestyle. Make it your own personal place with the building of a beautiful barndominium or farm house exactly to your likings. Run your favorite breed of cattle and watch them grow. This place has all the utilities at the road, great potential for whatever you may want to do, cattle, horses or just a country living place. Southeastern Oklahoma never looked so good, take a look and let the opportunities begin.
